Services | Drainage
When poor grading is identified as the reason for foundation movement drainage is often the solution.
Through consultation with the property owner and measurement of the elevations PERMA-PIER will locate the proper type of drainage (usually French drains or surface drains) in relation to the structure in order to avoid ponding or underground water migration which helps maintain a more consistent level of moisture around your home´s foundation.
French drains are typically drains that run from the soil surface to as deep as 8 feet or even more depending on the nature of the soil and the underground flow of water. This can be very helpful in mitigating the erosion that can be caused by the natural flow of water under or near your home´s foundation. Surface drains are usually used to help eliminate standing water near your home´s foundation in order to reduce the swelling of the soil which can reduce the stress on the foundation.
